Economy · from €35 a day

Economy Car Rental at Tirana Airport (Rinas)

Fourteen small cars from €35 a day, nearly all automatic, collected across the road from the terminal at Rinas. The right choice for two or three people who mostly want to park easily and not think about fuel.

What “economy” means here

Fourteen of ATT’s forty-one cars sit in this group: the Ford Fiesta, VW Polo, Mini Cooper and the Hyundai Accents, priced between €35 and €50 a day. They are four- and five-seat hatchbacks and small saloons with air conditioning, and almost all of them are automatic.

An economy car is the right call more often than people expect in Albania. Tirana’s older streets are narrow and parking is tight; Berat, Krujë and Gjirokastër have cobbled lanes that a large SUV simply cannot turn in. Fuel is a real cost too once you start covering distance, and a small engine changes the arithmetic of a week’s driving.

Where an economy car is the wrong choice

If your route includes Theth, the Valbona valley, or mountain villages where the tarmac gives out, take something higher. Four adults with full luggage will also be happier in a standard car. Tell us the route and we will say honestly which group fits.

Common questions

Is the cheapest car automatic?

Yes. Cars at the €35 rate include automatics, which is unusual in Albania — manual is still the default here and many local fleets have very few automatics at any price. Set the Transmission filter to Automatic on the booking form to see only those.

Will an economy car cope with the drive to Saranda or the Riviera?

Comfortably. The main coastal route is paved and in good condition. Allow four to five hours from Tirana rather than the two the distance suggests, because the road slows considerably once you leave the flat.

How much luggage fits?

Each car’s own page lists its seats and large-bag capacity. As a rule, two people with a large case each are fine; four people with four large cases are not, and that is the point at which a standard car or an SUV starts to make sense.

Is there a deposit?

See the rental terms for the deposit, insurance and fuel rules in full. If you pay cash we hold your passport until the car comes back; if you pay by card we record the card details.
