Where to find us at the airport
Albania has one international airport, and it goes by more names than almost any airport in Europe. You will see it written as Tirana International Airport, Nënë Tereza or Mother Teresa Airport, Aeroporti Ndërkombëtar i Tiranës, TIA, or simply Rinas after the village beside it. They are all the same place, about 17 km northwest of central Tirana.
ATT Rental Cars is based in Hotel Airport Tirana, on the road directly across from the terminal building. It is a short walk from arrivals. If you would rather not walk, airport pickup is free — tell us when you book, or message us on WhatsApp once you have your bags.

How collection works

Book online and give us your flight number
The booking form asks for it, and it is worth filling in. It tells us when you are actually landing rather than when you were scheduled to.

Tell us if you want collecting
Airport pickup is free. If you are travelling with children, heavy luggage, or landing in the middle of the night, message us on WhatsApp when you clear customs and we will come to you.

Inspect the car with us
We walk around the car together and write down anything already marked on it before you sign. Photograph it yourself as well. That record is what protects you when you bring the car back.

What we have, and what it costs
Forty-one cars in three groups. The prices below are the standard daily rates across each group as they stand today; every car’s own page shows its exact rate.

Automatic cars, which are harder to find here than you expect
This catches a lot of visitors out. Albania is a manual-transmission country, and many local fleets are almost entirely manual. Drivers arriving from North America in particular find themselves handed a stick shift they have not used in twenty years, on unfamiliar mountain roads.
Thirty-nine of our forty-one cars are automatic, including cars at the lowest €35 rate. Set the Transmission filter to Automatic on the booking form and you will see only those.

On insurance, which is where most rental disputes start
Every car is insured and licensed. Full coverage at €15 a day reduces what you would owe if the car is damaged. Neither replaces the walk-around inspection: photograph the car before you drive away, and make sure anything you find is written on the sheet you sign. The rental terms set out exactly what each one covers.
What you need to bring
- A driving licence held for at least 24 months. It must be valid and issued by a legitimate government authority.
- Passport or ID card. If you pay in cash, the passport is held until the car comes back.
- Minimum age 21. Some vehicles carry a higher age limit.
- A credit or debit card, if you are not paying cash. We record the card number, type and expiry date.
Booking direct
Booking through a comparison site puts a broker between you and the people who actually hand you the keys. When a flight slips, when you want to extend by a day, or when there is a question about a mark on the bumper, that broker is a call centre in another country.
ATT is the supplier, not a middleman. The number you message on WhatsApp reaches the desk at the airport.
There is no booking fee. The daily rate is the price. The only things that can be added to it are the ones you choose — full coverage insurance, a child seat, cross-border insurance — and each is priced above.
The single most useful thing you can do at pickup, anywhere in the world: photograph all four corners of the car and the windscreen before you drive off.
Questions people actually ask
Is Rinas the same as Tirana International Airport?
Yes. Rinas is the village next to the airport and the name most people in Albania use in conversation. The official name is Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza, after Mother Teresa, and the airport code is TIA. There is only one international airport in the country, so whichever name your booking uses, it is this one.
Can I collect the car inside the terminal?
Our office is in Hotel Airport Tirana, across the road from the terminal rather than inside it. It is a short walk, and if you would rather be collected, airport pickup is free. Message us on WhatsApp once you have your bags.
What if my flight is delayed?
Give us the flight number when you book so we can see your real arrival time, and send us a message on WhatsApp if you are badly delayed. We would far rather know than have you worrying about it at 30,000 feet.
Do you have automatic cars?
Thirty-nine of our forty-one cars are automatic, including at the lowest daily rate. Set the Transmission filter to Automatic on the booking form. This matters more in Albania than in most of Europe, because manual is still the default here.
Is there a mileage limit?
250 km per day is included, which comfortably covers Tirana, Durrës, Krujë and day trips. If you are driving the full Riviera or crossing a border, tell us when you book so the extra distance is agreed up front rather than at the end.
Can I take the car out of Albania?
Yes, but it has to be arranged first. Driving outside Albanian territory requires additional insurance, bought at extra cost before you travel, and while the car is abroad you carry the operating costs and full liability for the vehicle. Tell us before you book if Kosovo, Montenegro or North Macedonia is part of the trip.
Do I need a 4×4 for Albania?
For Tirana, the coast, Durrës, Berat and the main routes south, no. A normal car is fine and the motorway network is good. A higher car earns its keep if you are heading for Theth, the Valbona valley, or mountain villages where the surface turns to gravel. Tell us where you are going and we will say honestly whether you need one.
What fuel level does the car come back at?
The same one it left at. Note it when you collect the car — it takes five seconds and settles the question completely. The car should also come back about as clean as it went out; there is a €10 cleaning charge if it does not.
How old do I have to be?
21, with a licence held for at least 24 months. A few of the larger and more powerful cars carry a higher minimum age, which is stated on the car’s own page.
Do you have a seven-seater?
Yes — the Audi Q7, of which we run three. They are the largest cars in the fleet and they go quickly in July and August, so book early if you need one.
